Algorithm comment. Good work
Omg😮😮 Victor ❤
Awesome!
This is incredible, such good work!
Maybe Fletcher from "Whiplash" was right when he said, “There are no two words in the English language more harmful than ‘good job'.
Fucking hell this was SO hard
@ZeldaMusicTheory needs to try this!
Hi Ryan, my name is Hani and I am a Guitar teacher. I really love your way of explaining things, It is one of the best teaching sources on the RUclips. I really want to learn more about composing and modes, do you have a course that can take me from A to Z about the subject? Many thanks.
Thank you man!! This was perfect!
This was very helpful to me as a composer. I feel like I’ve had the lack of forward motion in my music. I always get stuck on how to properly reach the climax of my idea. This gave me more tools!
#8 almost got me lol. I recognized it instantly so I thought it must be Zelda. Then replayed that last part again in my head and i was able to place it as being in Untitled Goose Game
I got 15/17. I know no classical music but a massive Zelda fan so if it wasn’t something I recognise I just said classical. Only thing I got wrong was triforce heroes song (probs the Zelda game I played the least) and the trick question in bonus round, though if I knew there could be a trick question option I would have done so as I knew it wasn’t exactly Zelda’s lullaby
Awesome, thanks for sharing! Learned a lot.
Just really awesome! Loved them all.
Great video, thanks Ryan & co. Just a a bit of feedback. This format works a lot better as a vieeing experience when the composers all react to each other's works (see: Andre Huang's 4 Producers videos)
I wonder if Liam Raitor (at minute 18:00) is intentionally trying to bring the vibes of the Zora band, The Indigo-Go's, from Majora's Mask. I like thinking it is because of the sound of the waves and the set of instruments. Just wow! Congrats, mates!

I knew the Respighi Fountains of Rome, Yea!
Great idea for a video! I really enjoyed hearing all these different styles--it's a toss-up between Jeff's and Liam's for my favorite. Well done, all!
Links been hitting the spice again.. now they need to do the spirit temple in that dune style!!!
6:40 ac origins vsts? 💀
Are you referring to the female vocal? It's a recording of Ingeborg Ekeland, a talented vocalist (and violinist) that I collaborated with on this piece. But yeah, I can definitely hear the resemblance (although not intentional) to the vocal on AC: Origins. 😊
Voice with sinths! Btw great work@@arildwtv
@@richardmaia8732 Thanks, glad you liked it! 🤘
Arild version reminds me of Jack Wall's soundtrack for Myst III: Exile. If you haven't heard it, you should.
awesome video like always
reat video
This was an amazing video! Thanks for sharing
awesome!
I will be composing a piece where I need the kind of chanting I can hear at about 10:05. Can anyone steer me toward the sample library used? ruclips.net/video/-qx9Fs9lIoU/видео.htmlsi=cBsSQ1ru3rPrbp2i&t=605
This is actually several recordings of me and my collaborator, Ingeborg Ekeland, whispering, and then layered with more recordings of us that I processed through Padshop to get a rythmic feel (it chops, reverses, etc). I'm sure there's a bunch of libraries out there that can offer you chanting samples, but I would recommend recording it yourself. It's a lot of fun, and whispering is something that most people are actually decent at. 😄
This was a very cool challenge, Ryan, thanks for inviting me! I had such a great time listening to the other tracks - awesome work, guys! I was hoping for wildly different but great variations, and that's what we got. ❤
You nailed it, man! Congrats, it's always a pleasure and inspiring to hear what you do!
Oh, I love your takes on the theme so much, guys! 😃 I'm so happy to have been part of this video! Thank you so much, Ryan and your team, for the invite! ❤ Every time I participate in a contest or project with Ryan, I have the opportunity to learn and experiment in uncharted territory. I'm so grateful every time! A big thanks to my sibling for helping me out with the drums and percussion, which made the music 10 times better than it was before ! 😉
Enjoyed that one a lot. Interesting challenge and very great execution from everyone. Well done!
I feel that in Arild Wanvik's version, the melody is completely drowned out by Dune, to the point where you could remove the Song of Time completely and not notice much difference.
Thanks for the feedback! It's all about striking the right balance, I guess. I was very intrigued by translating the SoT melody into the more exotic modes that HZ utilizes in Dune (which you can check out in my full breakdown), but maybe that was ultimately at the expense of the recognizability of the theme. Anyways, it was a fun project! 🤘
Jeff hilkema’s is so good
yeah, definitely my favourite using fragments from the melody to extend the piece, then have the main thing at the climax is such a powerful composition approach!
Can’t stop listening Victor’s crazy jazzy blinky blinky track!
I’m glad you like it! Thank you!
@@victorxue7088 Yeah, you killed it! Your piece is so much fun! 😃
Just commenting for the algorithm
Great video! Liam's version was my favorite!

This was fantastic! I had such a good time playing along.
this dude is guessing every one. What single Mozart piece did he recognize?? He seems so unsure of himself, and guesses the same thing as the other guy the second he was ahead by 1 lmao. They are so lost here 🤣
#15 MARRY YOUR MUSIC THEORY PROFESSOR ✅DONE
On question 5 I knew it the moment I heard it One of my favorites themes from Majora's mask
I got 10/12 plus the entire first bonus round (so I suppose 15/17), but failed the korok one. I didn't even notice there were any koroks! I guessed 4 XD For the two I got wrong, it was the Triforce Heroes one, where I recognized it as a close resemblance to the Kakariko Village theme from OOT, but it was noticeably different. I couldn't think of any games with that kind of variation to it so I guessed it might be classical that inspired its theme. I never realized the Hytopia theme was actually a variation of Kakariko village due to all the instrumental change it has. The second one I had wrong was the 12th one with Debussy - Preludes Modéré. I thought it was one of those random melodical noises that comes up every now and then when exploring in Breath of the Wild.
The engagement with the audience makes it feel like a community.
That mystery song #4 at the first bonus round, I KNEW I had heard that song and I said "... No, that wouldn't be in here..." but then I was right!
Chopin isn't classical
